  • Distinguish among parasitic, saprophytic, and mycorrhizal fungal behaviors

  • Explain the role of fungi in tree health, soil systems, and agroforestry design

  • Describe fungal microbiomes and their relationship to plant host systems

  • Understand how environmental conditions influence fungal secondary metabolite production

  • Understand primary and secondary metabolite nutrients and their effects on mammalian digestion, immune systems, and hormonal balance
